A strong start: the ACHIEVE consortium gathers for its kick-off at Empa

On 10 December 2025, the ACHIEVE project held its official kick-off event at Empa's campus in Dübendorf, Switzerland. The gathering brought together over 70 participants spanning research institutions, industrial partners, and public sector stakeholders - a reflection of the project's broad, collaborative ambition.
The programme covered a lot of ground. The team opened with an introduction to ACHIEVE's mission, followed by presentations covering the 19 work packages. These sessions gave all partners a shared understanding of priorities, timelines, and the roles each group will play in the years to come.
"The kick-off showed just how much collective drive exists within this consortium. We have the right people, the right questions, and now the momentum to start finding real answers."
— Nathalie Casas, Head of the Energy, Mobility and Environment Department at Empa and ACHIEVE Coordinator
The day brought together people from across disciplines and sectors, with a shared motivation to get started. Discussions flowed naturally across fields, which is exactly what ACHIEVE is designed to enable.
ACHIEVE is now entering its operational phase. Leads across the 19 work packages are coordinating their initial activities, and the full consortium is aligned on the shared mission: To enable stakeholders to drive real-world emissions reductions in hard-to-abate sectors — through integrated tools, actionable insights, and proven strategies.
